“Black Dog” named after favourite fishing fly!

History dates back to the 1880’s when Sir Walter Millard was in search of Whisky which would be one of the best in the world,  he travelled from British India to Scotland, long and far on the highlands to the remotest islands and from fertile low lands to the rich Spey valley,  to find the best.
In 1883 Sir Walter Millard met the James Mackinlay who was the second generation of the Leith Scotch Whisky blending family, together they created a new blend. Which was named after Walter Millard’s favorite fishing fly “Black Dog”. Thus this was the birth of one of the most well-known and best tasting Scotch.
Today Black Dog which is India’s Best Scotch Whisky, stays faithful to the original blend under the watchful eyes master blender of Richard Paterson. Black Dog has four variations, Black Dog Black Reserve, Black Dog Gold Reserve 12years, Black Dog Reserved 18years, Black Dog Quintessence 21years and newly introduced Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve (TGR).
So what is Black Dog – Triple Gold Reserve?

As the name itself suggests, is the only blended Scotch that is produced involving a triple maturation process, this involves Grain, Malt whisky separately matured in American Burbon Casks and then Blended together and matured again in Oloroso Sherry Butts for an extra longer period of time to give the blend a distinctive flavour and a delicate finish, packed in a very distinctive Gold box which adds to the indulgence of the whisky, it would be very hard to not to enjoy this toast!
